a belated patsy cline message
it was patsy cline's birthday yesterday, so here's a mini-archive post with some pictures of the Patsy Cline Historic House back in July, and a little girly playlist <3
I always celebrate birthdays. People I know and people I don’t. I never let my friends have their birthdays go unnoticed. I know that some people hate to bring attention to their birthdays, but if it’s your birthday, you at least deserve a free coffee just for existing. I also always celebrate the birthdays of the people who have influenced me the most who I’ve never met. I always listen to John Lennon on October 9th and read Sylvia Plath on October 27th. Some part of me feels like wherever their souls are in the universe, they’ll know I’m celebrating them.
At the end of July, to begin a road trip up to Toronto, my family and I stopped at the Patsy Cline historic house in northern Virginia. Since it was Patsy’s birthday yesterday, I thought I would go through the recent archives and post some of my pictures from the house. 10/10 would recommend the experience, by the way.
to finish out this post, here are some of my favorite patsy songs, as well as some other girly/end of summer/beginning of fall/happy songs for your enjoyment <3
a summer song by chad & jeremy
your cheatin’ heart by patsy cline
bye bye love by the everly brothers
put your records on by corinne bailey rae
don’t let the rain come down by the serendipity singers
you belong to me by patsy cline
lipstick on your collar by connie francis
all I have to do is dream by the everly brothers
p.s. I’m trying to make this more multi-media on here. I have a bunch of posts in my drafts that include writing along with pictures, videos, and conversations with friends. I can’t wait to share them; they just take a little extra work. I think one of them is coming this weekend. <3
